Gloria Sandvik
As a co-founder of AiPhilanthropy, Gloria Sandvik
is committed to collaborative leadership and
community partnership. With AiP she has been engaged
in the design and facilitation of two Appreciative
Inquiry initiatives with the San Diego Women’s
Foundation and has worked with other non-profits
such as the San Diego affiliate of the Susan G.
Komen Foundation.
The balance of Gloria’s work is in the private and
public sector as a facilitator, mediator and
consultant in leadership development and
organizational effectiveness. Specializing in
transcultural structures, strategic initiatives, and
partnerships in global corporations, she has
conducted Global Leadership Institutes in over 15
countries. Since 1997 she has been consulting
in China for Motorola Chinese Accelerated Management
Program working with global leaders in change
management. She assists companies in doing business
in China and the Pacific Rim countries and provides
partnering and project mediation services for joint
ventures, mergers, and project partnerships.
She also conducts private/public partnerships in the
design and construction of architectural and
transportation projects and has worked extensively
with the Sovereign Indian Nations in Arizona and New
Mexico.
With a B.A. in Political Science and a Master’s
Degree from the School of Architecture, Urban
Planning and Public Policy at the University of
Oregon, her first career was in urban planning and
public policy development.
Gloria is a 2003 LEAD graduate and her community
involvement includes being on the Board of Directors
for the Del Mar Community Connections and being a
member of the San Diego Women’s Foundation, San
Diego Women in Business, and the Dean’s Roundtable
at UCSD’s Graduate School of International Relations
and Pacific Studies.
