AiProcess
Any initiative of discovery
and change, to be successful, adapts the best practices and
processes to meet each community or organizations' desire for
results. AiPhilanthropy has experience in various
generative techniques and has focused its learning on the Appreciative
Inquiry (AI) Process. The AI process (using the inquiry into
philanthropy as an example) has four phases, in which participants:
-
Discover
(appreciate) : Sharing stories in individual interviews,
participants explore the core of their personal contributions
of talent, time and money and identify the conditions that
energize this philanthropy.
-
Dream
(envision) : Exploring these stories in roundtable discussions,
including all those who have been interviewed, participants
identify those conditions that they want to create more
of and develop images of the future, imagining a productive
community where everyone contributes.
-
Design
(co-construct) : Focusing on what works and what is
desired or should be, participants develop provocative propositions
– for individuals, organizations and communities – to organize
and act to move toward that future.
-
Destiny
(create & sustain) : Building on their shared understanding
and experience of what works, participants develop confidence
to commit to bold, breakthrough actions that both demonstrate
results and facilitate continued improvisation and learning.
